we stayed at the aegean dream next door , the la blanche did look a lot nicer, had nice big squashy seats and the beach area looked better than ADR. the beach in turgutreis is generally quite stoney and it was fairly painful getting in and out of the sea so you will need beach shoes. its fairly scenic, im sure you will have a good holiday.

but 1 warning, please take extra care with your little one as we had problems with a local man whilst there last year taking a very unhealthy interest in children, read my complaints review

oh my god, we dont let him out of our sight since what happened to poor madeline mccann im wary of everyone. Thanks for letting me know, ill be extra vigilant very excited now as only 6 weeks to go!!!!!

dont let that frighten you but just couldnt not say anything after what happened to my 8 yr old last yr

turgutreis is quite nice and the walk to the town is around 10 mins from your hotel directly along the sea front. there is a small weekly market thats outside your hotel , think its on a weds

she was with 2 older dutch girls and we were on ADR's private beach and she wanted to get an ice cream, this was free for an hr every other day, so its the first time ive actually let her go off, i thought she would be safe in an all inc and with 2 older girls and we werent far, anyway this turkish man approached them, took the ice cream away from the older girl and grabbed hold of her, she broke free and her and her sister ran off leaving ellie, he then grabbed her fingers and tried to pull her away she managed to get away and ran to us on the beach he followed and tried to take photos of her in her swim wear, hubby shouted at him but still he didnt go until hubby actually got up, we reported it to security who did nothing, they knew this man and said oh hes just strange in the head ,tell your daughter to say no. this man is local and maybe he might still be around, i wanted to warn people of this incase he was, i dont want anyone else to go through this. not sure what his intentions were but it was enough to frighten the girls and certainly not normal behaviour !!

I take more notice of bad reviews than good one's, I believe the bad reviews give walts and all so don't dismiss them as people like to moan. How many people like to admit their holiday wasn't as good as it could of been. I have stayed at poor/average hotels were some people discribe it as the best hotel they have ever stayed in, I wonder what sort of place do they normally stay in. I remember I stayed in apartments in majorca, me and a couple of others put reviews on a site, we all said the same thing about the apartments, the one's who gave the good reviews were the ones who rolled back drunk every night at 3am waking everybody up, but that was not all, there were many problems with the apartments.

yes i agree with you mike its best to read good and bad, also some hotels get good to reasonable reports in the height of season and not so good beginning and end of season, this applies to 2 all incs ive been to in turkey, both 4.5* aegean dream in turgutreis and the marmaris palace in marmaris. i think the quantity and quality of food deteriorates, as ive spoken to other people that have been to these hotels and it was a lot better than we were there.

this odd man, uses a mobile phone not a camera to try and take pictures of kids, so crafty as not so obvious what hes doing, he looks around 35-45 , dark hair and complexion, medium build and looked fairly short around 5ft 5 to 5ft 8, i was lying down so this is approximate, average looking with no distinctive marks, and he was wearing cropped shorts and a t shirt,so didnt stand out much, so anyone visiting this area keep an extra eye on your kids

Just to balance the negative comments regarding the Aegean Dream Resort for anyone who may be going there this year.We stayed there last June/July with our 10 year old grand daughter and had a wonderful time,so much so that we are returning this year with her 11 year old sister.The staff were brilliant and we had no cause for complaint.Due to the hotel being full we agreed to spend our first night next door at La Blanche which is also a lovely hotel and more modern than the Agean Dream.La Blanche has its own man made beach which is nice and sandy and protected by two concrete piers.There is also good security to stop non guests entering the grounds.I don't think you'll have any cause to worry and i'm sure you will have a great time.

If I had to stay in the hotel next door for my first night I would of been livid but I expect good service. I wouldn't of said everything was great.

These arrangements had been agreed before we travelled so we knew what to expect.In return we were offered a "jacuzi" room and free late checkout as a thank you.So as i said everything was great.
