Hi Everyone,
I have just bought a house at this phase and its expected to be complete towards the end of september. Does anybody have any advice on furnishing the place.
The house is for my own use and will not be let. But I will only be there for holidays etc. So, I need some reasonable quality furniture. I had thought that I may be able to pick up furniture item by item but am concerned that non-deliveries could be a problem particularily if I'm only there for a couple of weeks at any one time.
What experience does anybody have with getting stuff delivered on time. Is furnishing from a scratch a problem.
my friend has 2 houses in lanza, the first one is for letting, so she just bought lacally
for her second house she wanted to furnish it with good quality stuff, she bought all the furniture in the uk.and had it shipped over to lanza.she made sure she was in lanza when it arrived, but it took the customs over in lanza over a week to ckeck the container out, luckily she was there for 2 weeks
will find out more details tomorrow and get back to you
You'll find a lot of info here..............

Personally, I don't believe there's any need at all to buy in UK and ship over here. There are plenty of furniture shops on the island selling all kinds of different types of furniture. Why pay for all the shipping?
You should have no fears about deliveries. Just walk into any store and you should get what you buy delivered within a day or so. 2 weeks will be ample time, although remember that ordering anything that isn't on the island is likely to take weeks.
Thanks for your advice and help. I cant wait to get out there and get everything sorted. The wait is killing me
We have a house on La Goleta and used Home from Home Canaries to furnish it - we fixed a budget and the results were fantastic. Highly recommend them - they are based in Fuerteventura but may now have an office in Lanzarote.
Good luck
I have already been to see Home From Home and they seemed to be pretty good. I'm just a little unsure about someone else buying furniture for me I think. Particularily as its for my own use. But I'm still thinking that option over
Know what you mean but our house is for our own use too and the quality and style were perfect, as I would pick myself. We also were reluctant at the start wondering if it was the right thing to do, but worked out well in the end. Ikea is opening in Lanzarote - not sure when - that might be something to look at too.
