i am going to la pineda in 3 weeks and i am so excited.has anyone else been there.the hotel looks good as well donnaire park.
can someone tell me anything about la pineda.or surrounding area.mostly the bars
Here is a website that gives a lot of info for Salou, La Pineda including bars restaurants etc:
thank you very much karen that was a really helpful site. have you ever been to la pineda yourself.
Hi. No I haven't been to La Pineda only Salou and that was a few years ago so can't remember much except it did look nice. I do a lot of holiday searching for friends family etc so thats how I know about that website. Karen
Ive just got back from La Pineda on Thursday. It was very quiet in comparison to Salou although the locals said it was the start of the season and apparently it does get busier. The beach is lovely ,very clean and there are a reasonable amount of bars and restaurants, also shops. Its 5 mins away from Salou in taxi and i have to admit we spent most of our time in Salou as it is much busier.
ok karen.thanx erincc.you never mentioned the weather. what was it like.i hope you had a good time. where did you stay.
We stayed in La Hacienda. Lovely hotel!
The weather was brilliiant,27.5degrees one day.Only one overcast day but we just went shopping in Salou. Also rain at night(thunder/lightening) but it never affected the day time.
thanx everyone. if anyone else wants to post a reply.please do not hesitate to do so. all info is helpful.
i'm going to La Pineda on wednesday, staying at Estival Park. We have been before and prefer La Pineda to Salou because it is quieter and not a lot of bars. We're not party animals, and if we want to go into Salou, it is only 5 mins away in a taxi anyway. I'm sure it's not everyones cup of tea, but when you live nr Blackpool (as we do) the last thing we want on holiday is a busy area. So La Pineda will get our thumbs up every time!
Hope you enjoy it!
Jules
thanx jules. thats exactly what I'm looking for.I hope you have a good time and I hope the weather is good.
All we have to do now is beat the crowds at John Lennon Airport on weds morn on their way to Istanbul for the football!
At least the weather looks good!
Jules
just don't wear a red top or join in the football songs and you should be alright. good luck jules
Wow!!! That brings back memories!!!! The Donaire Park was the first holiday abroad I had with my kids!!!!!! Loved the location, and was so pleased I was a little way out of Salou. We had a great room overlooking the pool, the entertainment was fun, and the beach was perfect. I look forward to your review when you get back!
:lol:15 days to go and all the reports are good.me and the kids are so looking forward to it.liverpool where great last night weren't they
i have just returned from La Pineda on wednesday and i stayed in the Donaire for the 2nd time.
The Hotel is really nice, its clean and tidy, maids are in every day, the pool has changed since the last time i was there, for the better i am pleased to say, the large pool has been made much more shallow so the kids can swim in it safely and the baby pool has been moved away from the large one which also makes that safer too. There is lots going on in the hotel for kids and adults during the day and also at night there are shows and mini disco also bingo, Albert the head of the animation in the Hotel does a brilliant job, he is nuts!!!!!!
The beach is lovely, nice and clean but do beware of the jelly fish that we seen around the rocks, this may not be a problem now as on our last day the nets were being put out to stop them from coming close to the beach, but just be careful as they are poisonous.
La Pineda is very quiet and to be honest we did struggle to find things to do on a night when we did nt want to stay in the Hotel. We found The Waterfront (on the main street) The Admiral(at the other end of La Pineda to the Donaire) was ok for the adults and kids but it was quite a long walk to get there especially with the kids. There is an irish bar called Henneseys at the end of the main strip of shops, they have a hypnotist on there weekly. Also there is a little place just up the back lane to the Donaire, it has bowling for adults and kids, mini golf and also has entertainment some nights.
If you do fancy some thing more lively Salou is not far but be warned, after 6 pm the bus fares get more expensive i was charged 2.90 euros each for 2 adults 2 kids on a night and its only 1.30 euros during the day, its not a great deal but if you are planning to use the bus on a night a few times then it adds up, it is cheaper to take taxis.
Have a good holiday
thank you very much loulou. that sounds really good. i'm glad you had a good time. everyone always seems to go back for a second or third visit so it must be good. you never mentioned the weather . what was it like when you were there, some people have told me la pineda can be very wet.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday. We are going to the donaire sept for the first time. Did you notice how much the trips to barcelona were as we would like to go to see the nou camp and the fountains and have read that the trains leave barcelona early to get back to la pineda.
Thanks
