Hi all....
I'm looking for a quaint, romantic, (lakeside if possible) Hotel in the Lake District for a short (Fri and Sat night) break.
I'm guessing there are hundreds, but would like to hear of your personal experiences and recommendations.
Thanks and fingers crossed
Andy
PS Forgot to mention it's for Feb 3rd & 4th
Keswick is a stunning location, and I think very romantic, there are a number of traditional Inns with open log fires and great ales where you can stay. Do a search on the place as each inn has different things to offer then you can narrow it down to where you want to stay. There is lots of things to do with the main square being a focal point for the locals, fantastic walks, great water activities, comfy coffee/bistro and pubs. Take a look and enjoy.
Thank hockey6
The one I have very fond memories of is the Linthwaite House Hotel http://www.linthwaite.com/ We had a room overlooking Windermere, and the mist over the lake with the mountains in the distance was a view I'll never forget. But it was about 15 years ago!
We sent the in-laws here for their 40th anniversary and they loved it.
how about The Inn on the Lake Glenridding, its on the banks of Ullswater. Beautiful views of the lake, some rooms have a balcony just right for watching the sun go down with a glass of champagne
We have stayed at the Low Wood Hotel inbetween Bowness and Ambleside. Lovely hotel with Spa facilities and also offering an All Inclusive option. Four poster beds, Jacuzzi baths, it was excellent and we are going back again later this month!!
