We are visiting KS for our 4th visit soon and I have never visited Lamai , this resort area seems to have quite a seedy reputation , but I was wondering if there are any good eating places worth a mention ???
thanks in advance.
We are staying approx 3 miles from Lamai so it would be handy for us to go there some evenings.
try the spa resort on the northern end of lamai been voted one of the top restaurants in the world
Several good restaurants along the hight street. On the last day we found a good dutch restaurant over the bridge at the end of the main street (you'll see what I mean when you get there). Where are you staying in Lamai?
shirley never said she wanted a cheap meal ,the food really is excellent at this resort
did you find any restaurants you liked Shirley?
We liked a Thai place called Lilly House and Bauhaus was good also, while in Samui Fiona we took a trip up to your favourite Bophut fisherman's village I am glad to report that not too much has changed in the 2 years since we were last there - a couple of new restaurants but that's it.
Bophut is my fave spot in Samui and when we go back I will definately stay there, my favourite restaurant Happy Elephant is there.
I must admit that when we landed in Samui and caught a taxi I was horrified at the amount of building work taking place especially round the Big Buddha area - i hope they stop building soon as I think KS has the most beautiful coconut palms and if they don't stop cutting them down they will lose every trace of natural beauty there is left.
Thanks for restaurant names- I think it is handy for others to know.
we are thinking of maybe a few nights in Ko Phangan next year - just a thought at the moment but would like to try it.
yes we are thinking of going back- but like you, if they ruin fishermans village we would stop going.
