We stayed at the Lantiana last October and it was fantastic. It is very centeral, although you do have to walk either down a short dusty track to town or you can go through the grounds and down some steps by the pool bar. This is probably the best option. We took our two children aged 4 and 5months. The hotel staff are extrtemely friendly and make a real fuss of the kids. It is a family friendly hotel and if you come back from town and don't fancy going back to your room in the evening then you really do feel comfortable having the kids in the hotel bar. The pool is very clean, as is the whole building. When we arrived, our room was overlooking a carpark and there wasn't much to look at from the balcony, but the staff were very helpful when we asked for a move and we were moved the next morning to a pool view, which was very pleasant. The food at the hotel is good and I would recommend the barbeque night. I am vegetarian and the chef made me a whole selection especially. There is a newsagents on site, but if you go to town, there is a more reasonably priced one only a couple of minutes away.
Hope you enjoy your holiday!

Thanks Karen, am looking forward to it even more now 8)
We fell in love with Protaras last year because all the locals are really friendly and they all seem to cater for kids really well, mine are aged 9 & 5 and they absolutely loved it. see ya, Sharon. :D

Hi
The best Supermarkets in the area are Orphanides and Kokkinos.
They are both out of Protaras, so you really need a car. Go out of Protaras and head towards the Aquarium/Viewpoint (ie away from Ayia Napa). Get to the big roundabout just past the Laxia Tavern/Palace and turn left. Orphanides is up there on the left.

We are next out in June - when you going? We are there from 15th.

I think these are the ones next to the mini golf, I remember seeing them in the Airtours brochures ..
I thought they looked nice and i think they are a couple of years old,

On the back road away but not to far away from Fig Tree Bay.

These are right behind the Alva apts which are onthe main strip. This is a little hill down into the Alva car park (little but really steep) They are quite spacious the pool side is a little cramped but the pool area is nice the food is good and the staff friendly You dont get much noice and the bedrooms and living rooms have french doors to open The blaconies are tint but we were not in the room that much.

We stayed there last september.

Hi
Don't know about packages as we don't use them ;) but have you though about booking direct and doing a DIY?

thanks i will look into it, we are a bit "old school " and we have only ever known the package way. but always open to trying something a different way. the only difference between package and diy i can see is having to get a taxi instead of dragging our cases to " number 55 coach" always last on the left! i know it would be around 100 english money return by cab as its a fair trek from larnaca to protarus. will go on the site you have recommended and have a look , thanks again

In my opinion, the major difference between package and DIY is the cost

Taxi from Larnaca to Protaras is CYP£25 each way (c.GBP£30)

hi jelly, as you can see by my previous posts i'm trying to go back this year to the lantiana so i must of enjoyed it! the apartments themselves are spotless. cleaned by very friendly and competent staff. the only downside is the small balcony (you won't be able to stretch out in the sun) however its very pleasant to sit there with a glass of the red stuff! the entertainment is not in your face (how we like it) Andrew from ireland did a great job last year with quizzes, competitions and his legendary volleyball in "the wide pool" which if he's still there you'll learn all about! we used to go out at night so didn't really see the night entertainment which is usually a couple of shows and bbq evenings. you can take the sneaky shortcut to fig tree bay down a path, (some nice lizards live in the rocks) i think you'll have a great time!

Just booked two weeks here for next July after reading good reviews. Does anyone know where there are situated in the resort? I have a feeling they are on the same road as the Brilliant apts and also if anyone has been this year what did you think of them?? :D

Hi,

My son and his family were in the Lantiana in June of this year and absolutely loved it.

There is a little shortcut down the side of the Alva apartments from it, 2 minutes takes you right down on to the Strip. Turn left and within a minute you are at the Loveboat, could hardly be more central but you have the peace and quiet of being away from the Strip.

We were in the Alva apts in July and to be honest we 'sneaked' up to the Lantiana pool area to sunbathe. Great pool area, plenty of beds (even at the end of July!), lovely and clean and no hordes of teenagers taking over the pool during the day!

Although we are Limassol people, if I was ever to go back to the Protaras area I would try for the Lantiana first.

Cheers,
Jinty
