hi, we are visiting cyprus in 6 weeks and we are planning to do some travelling around different parts of the island. I have noticed a place called Lara Beach in my travel book and it sounds great. Has any one elso been there and what time of year are the turtles on the beach. Also if anyone else has any suggestions of nice places to visit please let me know. We are staying in Ayia Napa but dont mind travelling to any part of the south. We have visited Pafos once on a coach trip and looked around the fort and the house of Dionysos is there much else to see there? we are taking our parents and would love to show them more of the island.
Thanks in Advance,
Mike.
There are 2 restaurants that are well worth a visit, not least for the views.
The Viklari AKA the Last Castle, and the Lara Restaurant. Due to their isolated locations they are only open at lunchtimes.

Turtles are around some time in June.
If you like PM me to guide you to extensive info on Lara and other beaches/naturespots.
Now answering to your more general question, if you want to see the secret green Cyprus, then you should explore Paphos forest (places like Platy valley, Cedar valley, the venetian bridges). If you are looking for cultural heritage there is so much - the Unesco World heritage sites - the walled city of Nicosia, the walled city of Famagusta (for both you would need to carry your passport to cross to the north) and many more.
Enjoy your holiday
