Read today that Laskarina have stopped trading, quoting internet competetion.
Anyone know exactly what's happened?
Anyone already paid a deposit for 2007?
thanks for looking anyway
It's a loss to the Greek travel scene. Never travelled with them, but always admired their professionalism and love of Greece. The Murdochs used to visit the islands regularly.
All is not yet lost. I understand that the staff may have plans to continue that excellent service in other forms. We wish them success (especially Frances, Jenine and Jill) and hope that Ian has a long and happy retirement. We hope to see him back in his Symi house one day. Yes, it's still there after the odd shower this week.
Richard.
Good news that there may be some "carry on".
I agree it's good news if it gets off the ground but also wish Ian ahappy retirement they've brought a lot of Greece to a lot of people without hassle.
Had a letter from Ian today saying, inter alia, that details of their former programme may still be accessed through their existing website, using their present agents and overseas staff. I expect that you, Greekofile, have received the same letter. Good news indeed.
HI. I noticed on the Tilos Travel website the other day that they are trying to take up some of the "slack" with bookings.
Whose next? Earlier this year Tapestry folded and now Laskarina. These were both excellent tour operators with well above average properties and some unusual destinations, we found their service brilliant too, unlike some of the big boys we've travelled with. Yes they were more expensive but you usually get what you pay for so it appears people are not prepared to pay for a superior product. We are really sorry to see these companies go.
