Hi teachersh ... I believe only Ryanair fly from Leeds Bradford to Dublin. (You will find more info and discussion about them in our Airlines & Airports forum). There are obviously loads of car rental companies at Dublin Airport, I usually find Dooley Car Rentals to provide the best service and rates, but it is worth shopping around.

When you say Dublin do you mean as the actual destination or just entry point? A car in the city centre would be a nightmare. And when you say "end of May" do you mean Bank Holiday weekends, because that will affect prices of flights and ferries.

If you are avoiding peak weekends and only going into the centre the train+fast ferry option might be worth looking at. How many is "we", you might be able to get a small group discount on this option.
