We stayed at the Armonia Hotel in Nidri last year. It is a really well run clean hotel, a walk away from the Tavernas and shops. The hotel rooms look over the bay and the view is beautiful.

They have their own web site - and the owner speaks perfect English and takes credit card deposits.

I did get a quote for the Armonia from Sunvil but it was £200 more expensive than the Oscar or Athos hotel which I didn't think worth paying especially in Greece when you only really need a place with a comfy bed and a hot shower.

I know you say they have their own website which may work out cheaper but I am travelling alone so would then have to hire a car or get a taxi to resort and back which would add even more to the holiday.

Thanks for the idea though. Did you travel with Sunvil or another company who maybe are a bit cheaper?

I think that the Armonia worked out at about £460 for the two of us for one week in high season. We didn't go with a company - we flew by exel to Preveza, hired a car, drove to Nidri for a week and then drove up to Parga for a week.

The other place we liked at Lefkas was Vasiliki - really good beach with shops, tavernas - much prettier than Nidri. Nidri is a very busy place in August!

We have used Sunvil before - we went to Patmos and Samos with them - they were very good - nice hotels and excellent transfers - but probably not the cheapest company.
