We have been to Lesvos several times and love it. Its main income isn`t from tourism so its real Greek. Petra is lovely and near to Molyvos which is great to visit but wouldn`t recommend staying there with buggy in tow due to cobbles and hills. We stayed in Skala Kalloni at the Hotel Pasiphae which I would recommend. Lovely staff, decent food, we stayed b&b and good selection at breakfast by Greek standards, other food good and reasonably priced. Nice pool and pleasant walk into S.Kalloni.

We went to Parga with our first daughter when she was 5 months old now 15! My advice is go for it!
Yes you will have to bath baby in the kitchen sink but they really don`t notice! Take your baby away before he/she starts crawling as they will still be where you left them! I breastfed and it saves such a hassle with washing and sterilising. Take something for baby to syuck when you take off and land. You can get Pampers anywhere tho I always took a good supply. We had our own travel cot so baby was used to it and we used to put her in the travel cot for several days before we went so she was used to it but I think that is a minor point. We also went to Kefallonia when our youngest was 10 months, not a good age, was into everything and didn`t understand when you said no! I would say the younger the better, they are more transportable!
Good luck!

Dear Mel
You have picked the perfect Island. Like you we went to Zante (rat Island) and hated it. In Lesbos we stayed at Molyvos, up by the Castle. However there are alot of cobbles and is not suitable for very young children. Petra is fine, you have Anaxos down the road and Molyvos for the evening(there is no beach at Molyvos). Hire a car and explore the rest of the Island... Scala Erressos, Vitari and Scala Kalloni are worth a visit. Because it is a very large Island, the transfer by coach to resort is long....take plenty of water. The people are very freindly and the food is traditional.
I hope you have a wonderful time as we did with our children last year.
