Oh.. I was under the impression this hotel was in Ovecik and not Hisaronu??? We have bitten the bullet and booked it, as I think we will get the best of lots of worlds!

If it's the one I think it is it's just down the road from the Leda in Ovacik There isn't many hotels after that the next stop is Fethiye. It's a good 20-30 min walk to Hisaronu but the buses stop just at the end of the road.

We stay at the Leda which is just up the road from the Leytur (you should have gone for the Leda but the Leytur is ok - be assured that you'd be welcome to visit the Leda any time day or night). The Leytur is fairly small and I'm told that it's friendly and very clean so no worries at all on that one.

We think it's in a great position - it's quiet and cooler as you often get a slight mountain breeze. Fethiye (authentic Turkish town with lovely harbour) is easily accessible by using a dolmus in one direction and Hisaronu (lively tourist village) and Olu Deniz (beautiful blue lagoon) are also not far away by a dolmus in the other direction. The dolmus (minibuses) run very regularly up until about midnight or 1am. It's a great area with loads to see and do. Hope you have a great time and love it!

if you go on any trips from the leytur it is not so far from the petrol station about 5 mins walk so when they pull up there opt to get off otherwise they will take you on a detour of hisaronu.and will take a extra 30 mins

crumpy... do plan to do some trips.. do you mean there is a drop off point at a service station before he hotel?

When we did some trips we travelled back from Fethiye most of them do.But then drop of in Hisaronu 1st so you drive past the petrol station(Leytur is just a little further) and then they made the drop offs in ovacik so we were the last ones to get dropped off.I think they like to drop you of at your hotel so just ask to be dropped off at the petrol station and its only a short walk.(I'm sure there is a easier way of explaining it to you!!!)

Every trip we've been on that comes back from Fethiye always drops us off either at the hotel or on the roadside directly outside the road that leads uphill to the hotel.

On any trip or dolmus from Fethiye, just shout out 'Leytur' when you come to the top of the hill and see the garage. If you're on the dolmus from Ovacik or Olu Deniz it can be a bit tricky at first knowing exactly when to ask them to stop (until you get your bearings and feel more confident) so just mention the Leytur to the driver as you get on. All dolmus drivers stop on request getting on or off.

TRIPS - don't miss the jeep safari - the best day out! Also the 12 island boat tour, sunset cruise. Saklikent Gorge and Yakapark (these are included on the jeep safari but are worth going to spend more time at) and, if you dare, paragliding from Babadog mountain and landing on Olu Deniz beach.

Thanks for all the useful tips. Where is best to book trips, gullet cruises etc? Is it best to do this from Fethiye, through the hotel, or is there a local agent that is good, and do you have to haggle a price or are the prices set?

You're welcome! The best place to book trips is in Hisaronu (don't do it through reps or the hotel as they'll be the same but dearer) and there are lots of places that will try to get your custom as you walk up and down the high street. It would be best to get a few leaflets and ask for quotes. You can then browse at your leisure and haggle a bit when you go back to book. They are very persistent and good salesmen so be strong and don't commit yourself until you've looked around and are ready. A good place to book online in advance is http://www.caroletayfun.com - they'll give you 15% discount for doing so and that makes their prices as good as anyone's. Another good place in Hisaronu is Tinyakropolis - it's right down at the bottom opposite Peppino's Pizza (a good restaurant) and you'll have had dozens of other offers and leaflets by the time you reach it!

Carole and Tayfun do the 12 island boat trip from Fethiye (they pick you up and drop you back to your hotel) and it's a great day out on boats that aren't crowded. They also do the sunset cruise and if you book them both, they'll give you the Sunday boat cruise to Gocek market free. If you go, I wouldn't bother with the market but Gocek is a lovely place that's well worth visiting.

We first went to the Leda five years ago. When we booked it, I wasn't keen to be honest but I now love the place and people and this summer will be our fifth consecutive holiday there. I hope you have a fantastic time.

Wow, just checked out the website, and the 12 island tour is only £9.00!!!!!

How far is Dalyan away? We almost booked for there, would like to visit there too?

Tinyakropolis is the place we book for all our trips oposite the piano bar .If there is a few of you (8-10) the private boat trip is WELL worth the money. Kids get to fish and then cook them later .There is only your party on the small boat ,a captain and usually his mother who will make a fantastic feast for you all included in the price it leaves from calais you can even tell them where you want to go.You don't need to book inadvance just go in and see him.Really they are all the same but if you stick to one you will get a good deal. With regards to the drop offs I am only refering to the booked trips, 2 people had to back in time to catch another trip they had booked. So they had to first

Does the dolmus run in all directions, ie Hisaronu, Olu Deniz, Fethyie regularly until around 12 midnight?

Yorkshire Boy... Have you used http://www.caroletayfun.com before... their prices look great but bit reluctant to actually book any trips before we go. Just because our son was going to Thailand in April for his honeymoon from NZ just as all the trouble started, and he ended up having to cancel his holiday, and lost all the prepaid trips he organised before hand. May take my laptop with me if my weight allowance allows !!, as I think I read somewhere that the Leytur has wifi?? Not got my e-ticket yet, and think the flight is with Onur Air, so expect a measly 15kg allowance! But for a week I am sure we will manage fine on that.

Hi Elle

Yes, several times. They are well-established and reliable.

I can understand that you might want to mitigate against any unseen circumstances but I wouldn't bother taking your lap-top as you'll be able to use the PC in the Leytur (or definitely in the reception area in the Leda up the road)

I agree that 15kg is measly. We've got 20kg with Onur this year but only 15kg next (Yes! We've already booked the flights for next year). We book directly with the Leda Hotel (£50 per person per week B&B) and they also arrange the private transfers for us from Dalaman. This year's holiday will cost less than £300 each for two weeks in peak season (inc flights, hotel and transfers). Worth looking into for future if you like the area but you would need to book the flights in early June for the year ahead to get the best prices - I am a Yorkshireman!!!!

Excellent deal! I thought our deal was good, Edin - Dalaman, half board with the Leytur for £330 for one week! We have just booked it though I suppose.

Does the place you recommended pick up from the hotel, I cant remember what was said now. I suppose I could book via internet once we arrive.

Getting excited now...

Yes they do pick up from your hotel and drop off there.

Have a fantastic time!

We are half board, and just wondering what the evening meal will be like. As this hotel is a lot smaller than where we usually go, I expect that the evening meal will not be a buffet, as there is only around 40 rooms and think some folk will be b and b only. Is it a set evening meal, or is there a choice?
