Ingo's every time.
Hi Ian, are you there now as Gramps is or are you just being stubborn as it is an up to date posting that Gramps has done. Thanks Gramps. B
Sorry it should be (Hi Martin) B
I couldnt agree more, Gramps. I went to Mackies a couple of weeks ago. first time for me since he split with Ingo many years ago. What a pleasant suprise.....room to move, great stalls, good food, and unlike Ingos, somewhere to sit and eat and watch the entertainment, which on the night I went was pretty good. yes its Mackies for me, Ingo has got far to greedy, cramming stalls in, asking stall holders to pay for cleaning etc.

Stubborn? Ian? No I'm not there, the title of the thread, was Ingos or Mackies and I chose Ingos. I alwats try both and will do so again when I am there in March.
Hi I think most people who go to Goa know all about who Igno is, but nobody so far has been able to tell me if there is a Mackie and who is he? Anbody help on this? Alan
As a matter of interest where exactly is 'Mackie's. What times do the market run from and too. reason I ask that is that I will have to get there from Colva.
Someone mentioned Hippie stallholders. I assume they are foreign(European) stallholders. Does one still have to 'haggle' with them over a price?
Both run from about 4/5pm till when everyone leaves, Ingo seems to prefer European stall holders, but there's a good mix, lots of hippy stuff etc, both have good food sections (my favourite bit)
You have to haggle everywhere, most people take advantage of the virgin traveller who's not aware of the going rate... I still get fleeced sometimes, and I live here!
thanks
We have enjoyed evry year at Ingos, like Rob says, the food stalls are a good attraction as is the 'buzz' of the place but if it is that bad and Mackies has improved then it's going to be a trip to Mackies for us.
It,s been my experience of the hippy or european stallholders that their goods are much more pricey and they are muce less likely to haggle and move much over their starting price Alan
16 days to go
Mackie's you turn left if heading from Calangute after right turn to Mapusa, then go Past the Marinha Dourada (on left) over narrow bridge and market is on left.
