Is the resort suitable for families ? much to do and water safe ?
also, has anybody stayed at or know of the Acapulco Beach hotel - is it ok, or worth avoiding ?
Many thanks in advance !!
The beach is fine and water safe but I don't remember much else to do except eat and drink (not much wrong with that). There is, however, a very good bus service to the Venice ferry which you must not miss. There are also loads of coach trips, the most memorable of which was to Padua to see the Chapel and Giotto murals. We were playing in a bridge congress in Jessolo so didn't see much else.
Don't just do Venice .... do ALL the venetian isles (Burano, Murano, Torcello) and Lake Garda and Verona are nice to visit too!
I like Jesolo (most people on here will know that!) Yes, it's a tourist resort, and yes, it isn't old italy, but it's got a nice beach, and is great for exploring the venetian lagoon

Thanks for the info so far, it does help.
Its a family hol - so its important to me that the resort is child friendly - Ive heard there is a waterpark there and I think a fair of some sort - I wouldnt want just 14 days on the beach, a few days are fine.
I know that you can get a boat trip to Venice and it takes about an hour I think.
What are the other places worth visiting for daytrips ?
thanks all

Yes, I agree, CiderMonster, do the lot. That's why we returned in 2006 and spent the whole time at the Foscari Palace by the Rialto with an Orange card.
Yes, JMO, it is easy to return to Jesolo in the same day. I've never visited Lake Garda and Verona but the thought of long day trips to them with young children, fortunately, has never arisen.

We did Lake Garda to Venice last year on the coach and its about a 3 hour trip, the Lake scenery is awesome.
I believe there are also trips up into the Dolomites from Jessolo, we did one from Garda and again its very worth doing for the scenery and a trip on a cable car.
Venice is pure magic.
