I just couldn't take to the place. Maybe it was because that road was all dug up at the time. And there was dust and rubbish everywhere.

I know that there is loads of bars and restaurants. But i like them all to be in 1 place.

That's why i love napa. If i want it lively i just go to the square. if i want it quiet i just go down to the harbour, or to one of the bars down nissi av. We did visit those bars in Limassol where they are down a little corridor like road. leading down to the sea. They were ok. And there was a nightclub opposit these that we visited.

I just don't like walking a long way to different bars.

The beach that we found which was at the bottom of the street where the Castel apts were. Was awful. It was wide enough for 1 lounger and it was pebbles. We just couldn't see any other beach.

I'm afraid I'm different and like to see more of a place

Going in eleven days, so if I get a chance I'll get some photos of the
beaches for you as we are actually staying in Episkopi

If you've already booked - make the best of it!

If you've not - don't!

:gluck

(Had friends stayed there, if you manage to get the 'blue block' they are ok)

Cheers,

Actually Chris, if you had turned left coming out of the Castle, walked along past McDonalds there is a lovely little sandy cove (very easy missed)

(Don't like to tell too many people in case it is over-run by tourists by the time we get there!) :zip

Cheers,

We`ve stayed in both Paphos and Limassol, each time for 2 weeks, and enjoyed both for different reasons, as they are both very different resorts. The beaches aren`t too clever, the best beaches being at Aiya Napa, but I only like Aiya Napa for a day out, I wouldn`t stay there, too lively for my liking at night. Limassol has plenty of good places to eat, cheap and cheerful or more expensive, and isn`t too far away from places of historical interest, but Paphos has places right on it`s doorstep, so they sort of balance each other out.

Cool mum
Try and get yourself into the Tasiana star apts they are far better than the Tasiana I and II. Befriend George in the small bar in the Tasiana reception, he is a great guy and if you have any problems he will try and sort them out for you. My girlfriend caught chickenpox and as our rep was useless he took us up to the limassol clinic and made sure we were looked after. We only really used the apt for sleep, they are pretty basic and vary in standards as there is about 7 different blocks.

hi every one

i am just wondering if anybody can tell me just how lively is limassol?

i have booked there for my wedding next year July 2006 and will be there for two weeks. my friends and family will be coming with us.

each year my friends and i have gone to greece (kos, zante & faliraki) we do like it lively(not too much in your face though), we never really go to the clubs we just stick to the pubs. i didnt want to go to napa as i think that would be way to lively and not offer much for my parents.

we are staying at the miramare hotel which is situated near yermasoyia. some people have told me that limassol is the next liveliest resort to napa.

can some one please help, i know it is my honeymoon but my fiance and i love to go out drinking.

if any one has any info i would be most gratful :D

Hiya

I think you'll find Limassol plenty lively enough for you without being in

your face lively

There are plenty of good pubs, clubs and restaurants around.

Your parents won't have any problem finding something to suit.

Also Napa is not just a party town; thousands of families holiday there

every year. There is also a lot there for your parents too. The clubs don't

normally open till midnight and there are lots of nice pubs and restaurants.

All in all either would suit your parents.

The Miramare is a lovely hotel with entertainment on most nights. It is just off the main tourist road so the grounds are quiet. Two minutes walk away you will find more bars, clubs and pubs than you could visit in two weeks!

I think you and your family will all love Limassol, it`s lively enough without being over the top. We stayed at the Asteria Beach hotel, which is almost next door to the Miramare. The beaches aren`t great, but not bad, and there are plenty of places to eat out, cheap and cheerful and more classy and expensive. There are also plenty of good shops in the town centre, but it`s a fair walk, better take the bus.

If we were doing a day trip to Limassol from Pafos, what would there be for us to do there or on the way? Thanks!

Well for a start it is only a 35 / 40 minute drive, but about half way you have Pissouri beach and village, then a little further on you have the Kouirion and all it's Roman Greek amphitheater and remains, then to finish the short drive you have Kolossi castle,( a must see) an old suger factory, used to make the oldest wine in the world (Commandaria)

Kolossi castle.

The Kolossi Castle is a stronghold a few kilometers outside the city of Limassol on the island of Cyprus. It held a great strategic importance and contained production of sugar, one of Cyprus' main exports in the Middle Ages. The original castle was possibly built in 1210 by Frankish military when the land of Kolossi was given by King Hugh I to the Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem (Hospitallers) (see also Commandaria), and the present castle was built in 1454 by the Hospitallers. Dwellers in the castle include Richard the Lionhearted, the Templars and the already mentioned Hospitallers.

Kourion near Limassol

first stop Pissouri beach and near by village.

After that you can forget Limassol as it will be late in the day, then drive back to Pafos for a Meze in a nice local taverna, I can think of no better day out!

Then a late drink near the beach to finish your day....perfect! :)
