We're off to France at the end of July and staying in a gite in St Dizier Leyrenne, Limousin. I'm very excited as the only other time we've holidayed inland was a summer break in Austria and we had an amazing time...
We are flying to Nantes and then will rent a car for the rest of the journey. Does anyone have any idea how long this will take? I have had various suggestions ranging from 3 1/2 hours to 5 1/2 hours. We arrive at 5.30 in the evening so need to decide whether to drive straight to Limousin or overnight somewhere and arrive the following day. Also does anyone know of any riding stables etc in the area. Thanks

I can't really give you any specifics on the Limousin, except that it is supposed to be a very beautiful and rural part of France.
But perhaps I can point you in the right direction.
If you know your arrival address, use http://www.viamichelin.fr to plan your route from Nantes airport. This will give you at least two different routes .. fast and scenic.
You could contact the Limousin Departmental Tourist Office for further details. The French for horseriding is EQUITATION.
