Well i do know Lindos View but i've never stayed there. What do you think might be missing? It's a well run accommodaton so will have all the basics - fridge, kettle, 2 cooking rings, basic kitchen utensils, hand/bath towels, etc.

As you probably realise Lindos isn't the easiest place to get around with a buggy with it's hills and cobbles but it's not impossible, i've seen plenty of young families enjoying a holiday in the village. A must do in Lindos is the Acropolis. I wouldn't attempt it with a buggy or try and get a 3 year old to climb all the steps but you could take a donkey up. Make sure you keep hold of your child up there though, there's plenty of unprotected drops and i'd visit early morning as it does get very hot. A must do on the island is Rhodes Town, the medieval Old Town is absolutely stunning and you can easily spend a day exploring the capital. Plenty more to see around the island, it really depends on how much you want to do but if you hire a car there's no end of options.

As for restaurants in the village, some of my favourites are Ambrosia, Stefany's, Dionysos, Broccolino, Olympia and Caesar's. I've also heard that the restaurant of Lindos View is very good, so you won't have to venture very far for a decent meal

thanks for your reply. We have a 3 year old who is very used to walking and we have not used a buggy in a year so that shouldnt be a problem. It's very hilly where we live so she should be ok.

i definately agree with a visit to Rhodes old Town , the Acropolis yes , but i'm not sure i would attempt
it with a 3 yr old , its so open no hand rails , and a very big drop if anything was to go wrong , if you were on your own then yes you have to go , i would also recommend a day trip over to Symi

We went to Lindos a couple of years ago and our favourite trip was the visit to Rhodes Town. The Old Town is fantastic to walk around with the numerous shops, bars and restaurants. We've been to a lot of the Greek Islands and it is our favourite of all the main towns we've visited.

We also enjoyed the donkey ride up to The Acropolis and just generally exploring the village. The beaches in the area were also very good. We went at the same time of the year as you're going and it was very hot!

You have to visit Rhodes Town on a sunday lunchtime to see the parade of the Knights of St John (12-30 I believe). One evening I would recommend making the effort to eat in one of the rooftop restaurants overlooking Lindos.

I shall be in Rhodes from the 18th to 23rd June for the Rhodes Rocks Open air Rock Festival in Lindos (the evenings of 19th and 20th June - checkout the website INVALID URL We are holidaying in Turkey from the 10th but catching the ferry across to Rhodes. We shall be staying at Stegna with friends and there are some lovely restaurants in Stegna.

We always hire a car and I would suggest a visit to Faliraki - it isn't the 18/30 place it used to be.

Our favourite beach is Agathi (head towards Haraki but then you will see a left turn signposted to Agathi beach).

I really have to say that we do not have a favourite restaurant in Rhodes because there are so many that we like. My favourite meal was a Kleftiko in the Aroma at Stegna but we didn't have a bad meal anywhere.

I'm sure you will enjoy your holiday - and I'll look out for a couple with a 3 year old in a buggy

My OH has a mohawk and I may be wearing a Saxon t-shirt if it makes it any easier. Not sure what t-shirt he will be wearing but it will be something rock/metal.

We holidayed in Rhodes last June and fell in love with the Island! First time and definately won't be the last - infact we are returning next year to get married! We stayed in Pefkos but travelled around the island.

We hired a Jeep (really fabulous price for two weeks (300 euros), if you are thinking of hiring a car PM me and i'll send you an email address, we had the vehicle at the airport to pick up and dropped it off there when we went to catch our flight home, paid for it on our first morning)

Places we visited:

Lindos itself you must do the Acropolis and we used the Beach at St Pauls bay (we met the owners wife she's from Newcastle and her girls played with our daughter in the bay all day). The sreets are truely lovely to saunter around, little shops and lovely little eateries aswell as big restaurants.

Rhodes Town, very busy and a nightmare to drive in, but a great day out - sadly didn't have time to do the boat trip to Symi Island from here

Kalithea Spa - is beautiful (this is where we plan to get married) it has been renovated and looks stunning. Spend a day here, we sadly found it on our way back from Rhodes town so only had time for a quick dip but the snorkelling here is fabulous and there's oplenty of sunbeds and the kiddies will love splashing around here.

Monolithos castle in the South of the island is fantastic - gorgeous views aswell. And if you can drive up the west if the island and back through the villages in the mountains. Some of the views are specatular and the villages so quaint and pretty. And just near Monolitos castle is Fourni beach - more or less deserted and is a pebbly beach but great to cool down at.

Seven Springs, walking through the tunnel in the pitch black was brilliant, lots of nice woodland to walk around - although not alot else, but great to cool down and have a picnic (take your own food as the cafe here is VERY expensive), a little playground for the kiddies here too.

Lardos - a lovely village went here a few times at nights for meals and to a local music festival, watching traditional dancers and children jumping over fires, Locals were extremely friendly.

There's a little beach down on the east side and a restauarnt if you get there early enough you can see the octopuses hanging out on the lines drying. (i'll have to find the name of that one)

Beach wise we used Glystra Bay and Vilcha Beach (just south of Lardos), Pefkos Main beach and St Pauls Bay. We visited many others but liked these the best.

In Pefkos our favourite Restuarants were Coralli's (gorgeous gorgeous lamb and fish dishes), Tsambikos was nice and Flyers on the main beach was perfect for lunch. Lardos has great restaurants although cannot remember the names of our favourite two Roumelli's and i think it was little white house or similar?

There are lots of pretty villages and churches to visit - they really are a must!

ENJOY we cannot wait to go back, not going this year as i fell pregnant while in Rhodes last year and our little fella is too young when it's nice over there, so going to Cyprus later on this year.

Forgot to mention Agathi beach too

Just realised the restaurant in Lardos was La Roula's not Roumelli's adn it's the little old house in Lardos that is fab too!

There's also a gorgeous little greek taverna on the roadside next to the sea / beach called Anoixta, on the way to Glystra Bay (looks a little like a shack) very popular with the locals - so get there earlier in the day especially on a Sunday as they catch all their fish themselves and it is divine!
