There is also a small but clean and efficient metro system. If you are taking an 11 yr old I would suggest the very large Aquarium complex located at the Expo site. You can get there by metro. Here is the metro map :-

Have fun in Lisbon!
Lisbon is located at the point where the river Tejo (Tagus) flows into the Atlantic Ocean and that could say a lot about what is to see in the capital of Portugal. The splendid view over the Atlantic coast, the Lisbon's historic center set on seven hills, the Monsanto Natural Park, one of the largest urban parks in Europe, The Tower of Belem and the Jeronimos Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jeronimos), two Lisbon monuments classified by UNESCO as World Heritage Site, the beautiful beaches nearby Lisbon are just few of th e places you shouldn't miss. I discovered recently a website with useful information on Lisbon, especially for those who visit Lisbon for the first time: Have fun in Lisbon!
