this is wrong end of the town for me as i usually stay in the fenals area.
the main bars, like rockefellas, that are suitable are in the area at the top of the main strip near the bus station which is about a 15 minute walk from your hotel and which start to come to life around 11pm
there are plenty of bars/restaurants around where you are staying and on the way to the beach.
as a general rule, the main resort` tends to be full of young students of all nationalities who are there to party during the summer. they tend to give the bars a miss and concentrate on the clubs which is ideal for those of us who are a bit older but still want a bit of a party atmosphere.

TIP, for anyone not going to party all night, remember that most of the other guests will be and so sleep quality is proportionately worse the lower the * rating of the hotel
