Just thought of another, stuffed Papads

They are lovely Helen, like spring rolls but more like popadams stuffed and rolled.

exactly, normally stuffed with either chicken or crab, not very large so you usually get about 8-10 on a plate. Just great as a shared starter or snack with a beer

Pakoras make a nice snack too

I'm gonna enjoy those Miccie :tup - I like pakoras as well.

I've tried to make them at home, whilst I can do a pretty good stuffing the papad is never successful and it always ends up exploding in the oil - if anyone knows where I can get a good recipe for the stuffed papad I would be very grateful :)

My 5year old likes the chicken hakka noodles, and do i come to think of it.

Coconut pancakes remind me of Goa, been having them since the mid 90's in Goa.

We love the coconut pancakes as well but didn't seem to see them as much this time and when we did we didn't have room for them!

Gooner fan, thanks for the link. Some interesting recipes to try out. When we're in Goa we love the jumbo prawns. They're REALLY big and I think they taste nicer (and are cheaper) than the lobster. Sometimes we have them in the recharde (sp) sauce or just with garlic butter.Yum. Helen, if you're feeling adventurous you should try the sorpotel. It's a bit like offal vindaloo. I know it sounds strange but I do like it and I've even cooked it at home. In fact I love all the dishes mentioned in this post. Unfortunately the heat doesn't put me off my food so I actually do need to bring bigger clothes for my second week.

I havent really seen the coconut pancakes much, well not for the last couple of years anyway.

I saw lots of shacks doing chocolate pancakes, but IMO coconut pancakes are the best mmm
