the whole resort is situated around the shopping centre which like kate said is the nightlife..

The way to the beach is a good walk, we satyed right at the back by the water park when we were there and the walk didn't bother us as it was quite pleasant!

Where you are staying is in the section under the road called El Hierro

i stayed right next door to you when i went, these are a 5 min walk if that from a water park which is great.

There are steps right in front of your apartment which take you directly to the shopping/nightlife. It is some walk to the beach but like i said its a pleasant walk.

we stayed at the carlotta a couple of years ago, when you come out of the complex turn right and follow the road, go round the corner and the first set of steps you come across if you go down these it brings you to the middle of the commercial centre. if you turn right the water park is about 5/10 mins walk. if you turn left and carry on straight toward the beach it will take 10/15 mins walk. my husband is registered disabled and can only walk at a slow speed compared to me and he found no problems with the steps etc we just went at his speed. we found the carlotta to be basic and the appartments were a bit on the small side for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids but was very clean and the staff were very friendly. i am sure you will enjoy your holiday there.
