We want to book log cabin/lodge type accommodation during the October half term week. As there is so much choice, and before I spend umpteen hours searching online, I thought it sensible to ask if anyone has any particularly good recommendations.
We are a family of 4 with 2 boys - ages 10 and 15. We don't want a caravan park but pleasant (4 or 5 star) accommodation with on-site activities to keep the boys occupied: football, indoor swimming pool, pitch & putt and may be a horse riding option for me! For the evenings an on-site pub with entertainment and/or one or two within easy walking distance would be good too.
We don't mind either a beach or inland location within, say, a maximum 3-4 hr drive from Berkshire.
Any recommendations would be very much appreciated, together with any last-minute websites I could check.
Many thanks in advance.
jansiddell,
Have you looked at Centre Parks at Whinfell Forrest, Cumbria? That might be what you're looking for although it might be a bit further than your 3-4 hour drive. It's a great location with the Lake District on your doorstep. Sherwood, Elvedeon and Longleat are closer to you but I don't think all the cabins are log like at Whinfell.
