We are contemplating a 10-12 week stay in January 2008, we are wondering what the best winter stay resort is on the Costa Blanca?
Was looking at La Manga, anyone got any ideas regarding renting privately vs. a self catering holiday apartment through a tour operator?
don't want to go half board even though it could be a cheaper alternative as want to experience the 'living in spain' way of life.
Can anyone offer any advice on long term stays in the winter months?
La Manga is seasonal unless you want the golf courses. We went down to La Manga End of March for the day and not much open. I live in Torrevieja where it is quieter in the winter months but there are still plenty of bars and restaurants open. Renting privately would be better as you pay for the apartment and not per person could also work out cheaper. Check out the rental section on the forum. Weather this year in January was great gets chilly from 4pm but a lot warmer than the UK
I have PM'd you
We have stayed in Albir in the winter months and thoroughly enjoyed it. Albir itself although a tourist destination is lovely and quiet and it is within walking distance of Altea. This is an old town where you feel that you are in the true Spain.
