I see you have posted on number of threads about Tunisia, one of which says you are marrying a Tunisian, who also speaks good English. Perhaps he is the one better to answer your questions than anyone on here?

I would strongly advise that unless your fiance is very clear as to what you want, you should personally check out any apartment you are considering buying or renting. As you may be aware, many Tunisian houses and apartments are not exactly up to western standards in respect of plumbing, gas/electricity and other things that we take for granted. Also make sure you check out the legal situation regarding buying property in Tunisia. I am told things have eased somewhat recently but foreigners are apparently still not allowed to own property in certain areas in their own names, or, if they do, are not allowed to sell and take the money out of the country if they wish to move back at a later date.

I wish you all the luck in the world and hope it works out for you, but would urge you to take sensible precautions, as you would anywhere.
