it think it might depend on what your older son and his friends are into?

I can recommend the Hotel Tannit in San antonio whichis about a mile out fromthe centre, its a family style hotel and offers half board or all inclusive. Its far enough away from san antonio town to avoid the noise etc but its still close enough for your son and his mate to go into on a night.

there are a number of posts on this forum on this hotel, this should give you a flavour for what its like.

if your older son and his mate arnt into city centre type nights out then you could consider something a little more reserved such as ibiza town or possibly Santa eulalia

Hi there,If you are thinking of half board why not pay that little bit extra and go all inclusive.Have a research into Club Portinatx in Portinatx. This is a beautiful part of Ibiza which still feels very Spanish. The hotel itself has its own private beach(Not huge but 3 other gorgeous beaches close by)where the boys can do kayaking and windsurfing included in AI.There is a few bars around and a waterpark on the beach near El Greco with a few slides etc.Theres mini golf and a little train that takes you around Portinatx.Glass bottom boats, jetski hire there really is things to do but the hotel has shooting, basketball, tennis and loads more.Great kids club and great evening entertainment at night. Not sure when you are thinking of going but would def pay that little bit extra and go AI.Hope this helps.Ssx :wave

the only problem you might find with Portinax is that its quite small although quaint, and very quite. This might no suit your older son and his mate, and there is no busier resort relatively close by :)

Yes it is quiet but i only mentioned it due to the fact a reasonably quiet family holiday was wanted.I agree that it may be too quiet for some thus making it the ideal family place to go.There is a lot of hills so prams can be a pain but it is such a beautiful part of the island these things are irrelevent.Dont think there is nothing to do because there is if youre more of an watersports person, but yes if the 20yr olds love raving the it would be too quiet and too far away from the hustle and drinking games!!

I would recommend the Hotel Caribe, it's a 3 star half board hotel in Es Cana, it is situated perfectly in the resort, the beach is a 2 minute walk away as is the resort centre. There are many bars, shops and restaurants to suit both the old and young. The beach is large and beautiful, with the sea not being too deep until a long way out. We've taken our two sons there twice (ages 5 & 9) and they've always had something to do, it's our favourite place by far. If you give it a try let me know how you get on! :D

There are several good options in Es Cana, which is the resort I would recommend for young families.

I would say Es cana is good for families with kids up tp 16,but if they're older than that and like some night life I would say no.
