hi julie we are going in february to the phoenix park in candolim.we went this feb and liked it so much we decided to return.we have stayed at the goan heritage and neelams the grand,both in calangute and liked the phoenix best. the staff at all the hotels were really friendly.we had rooms in the 200's block.we found the rooms were the nicest of the three hotels.breakfast was fine and we did have a couple of lunchtime snacks which ok too but we like to go out and about to eat.the location is great -right in candolim but down a dead end road so its nice and quiet. about a 10min walk to the beach.i did a hotel review under sue and steve pearce.hope this helps.pm me if you want to know anything

Hello, a for lovely quality hotel, Lemon Tree is a very nice hotel, we stayed there for a month in 2007 and returning Jan 2008 for another month's stay.

Julievroy. The Sonesta is a nice hotel right on the beach i've never stayed there but had a look around the gardens are set lovely.Its had some good write ups.
Its about half way between candolim and calangute so not far from everything.

The Sunset Beach hotel in Candolim is very nice and only a few minutes walk to the beach, it's a small family run hotel, very clean and friendly, also there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Have a look in Thomas Cook Tropical Shores brochure as it's the only tour operator that do this hotel in the UK.

The santana and the highland beach resorts are two in candolim we looked around during our recent stay and they looked very clean.

We stayed in the Highland Beach 5 years ago and although it was very nice it wasn't a patch on the Sunset Beach, after 4 days I had to leave a note on the bed to ask for the sheets to be changed, after that we had them changed daily. Personaly I prefer small hotels, that's why we now stay in a guesthouse, the Highland is now a big complex and I feel lacks the personal touch.

The Santana is a good choice you cant get much closer to the beach than this, also has its own excellent beach shack The Calamari, you will find pics in the gallery(somewhere) Allan.
