We always use the combination locks and have never had a problem in Europe. I guess if it is really important for customs to get into a case for whatever reason they can cut off the locks with metal cutters. I shouldn't think that happens too often though.
I only use my USA combination locks though when I'm travelling to the US as these cost us so much more than our regular ones that I wouldn't want them lost or damaged.
Where can I get the USA security approved combination lock from?
