Absolutely wonderful - the weather looks good for January.

Was there much open - the beach certainly looks very deserted.

We have been to the Algarve many times - the last time being a week in January when the weather was pretty good too.

Where did you stay??

What great pictures, it was like I had been transported back there. It's made me even more determined to go again sometime soon. :D

Stayed in Albufeira for 3 days (Real Bellavista) then 4 days in Praia da Rocha (Casino). Luz was just a day trip. Rained for two days, rest of the time was fine; warm but not hot.
Not much was open anywhere. The beach front cafes in Luz were open so we stopped for a coffee. Enjoyed the break.

I was in Luz 20 years ago, nice memories although it wasn't much more than a newly developed fishing village then. The local town, Lagos, is well worth a visit - the pictures are of Lagos market day.

wyeman,
Many thanks for sharing the pictures of Lagos. I don't suppose you have any of Luz from the same period do you?

I spent six months in Lisbon in 89/90, you've inspired me to dive into the attic tomorrow and route out the the albums.
