have you looked at the
Hi Steve. Ma Partilha is exactly 1.25 miles (20 minutes walk) from Alvor which is a beautiful quant fishing village with some good bars and excellent restaurants. It is 1 mile from a gorgeous beach at Praia do Vau, 2.5 miles from the lively resort Praia da Rocha and Portimao. A good puncutal bus service passes Ma Partilha to Alvor and Portimao every 20 minutes (€1.40) and taxis are easily available at €3.80. Ma Partilha itself is a lovely quiet complex with cafes, Internet access in 1 cafe, shop, restaurant and an excellent steakhouse (Big Reds). Most blocks have pools the nicest pools are probably lote 18 and 19. All apartments are relatively new. The resort is quiet, safe and secure and suitable for families and couples but is not suitable for lads wild weekends. I find it ideal as you have calm and no rush for sunchairs as each pool is allocated for approx 15 apartments but yet is easily accessable to Alvor and Praia da Rocha for nightlife. I normally walk to beach as it is a nice 15/20 minute walk however you could get taxi there.
cheers steve
Hi Steve. If you not into beach/pool thing then try boat trips from harbour in Alvor to Lagos and Silves, from Praia da Rocha there is water sports, dolphin sighting etc. If you fancy cooking then get a taxi to Continente in Portimao on your first day (large supermarket) and stock up for week and then use local shops. If not moving far from Ma Partilha then try Pasterilla cafe and Barbaria cafe and big reds for meals. In Alvor Buganvilla is a must, it doesn't look much but all the locals eat here and steak on stone is recommended. Also the green door and tasca do morias are good. If you like fish then you will love the restaurants at Alvor harbour. Some good bars in Alvor and Praia da Rocha maybe just move around and you will find one to your taste, I like the sports bar (more music than sports) amount others. I have friends with apartments here and stayed both at the end of Sept and Oct last year. While quiter than peak season it was still busy with plenty of people around at the end of sept last year. End of October was quiter again with golfers and middle aged couples mostly but there was enough people around to ensure Algarve didn't appear totally deserted.
