You need to consult with your doctor / practice nurse really to discuss your options. Maralone are probably the best ones to take but you'll need to discuss things and get a private prescription. Expect to pay around £2.20 per tablet to be taken from 2 days before you travel, daily while you're away and a week after you return. They may sound more expensive than the others, but you only need to take them for a short period, some you need to take for 2 weeks before and a month after your return. Maralone also have the least known side-effects so in my opinion, it's worth the extra.

If you do get prescribed Malarone, shop around for prices because they can vary tremendously from one chemist to another. I think we found Boots the cheapest a few years ago, but this could have changed now.
