Just to let people know that there is an excellent Aviation Museum in malta that is well worth a visit. It contains aircraft such as Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, DC3 Dakota and many other aircraft and items
The museum is located near the craft village at Ta'Qali close to Mdina.

Valletta: Bus No.80
Bugibba: Bus No.86
Rabat: Bus No.80
The craft village and flight museum used to be mentioned in welcome meetings at hotels but has now been dropped from a lot of these welcome meetings, and as a result visitor numbers have dropped to the museum and also the craft village which is a shame as a lot of locals are employed there.
As well as a huge range of traditional and contemporary glassware, many types of craftware can be seen being made and sold here, including lace, pottery, silver filligree jewellery, ironwork, woodwork and leatherwork.
So if you are in Malta please go and take a look and support the local economy.

Graham
Hi Graham I have to fully agree about the aviation museum at Ta Qali, it is a great place and really interesting, Mrs Sliema2 doesn't really have much interest in that kind of thing but even she enjoyed it there, I enjoyed it greatley as I had only just finished reading a great book on WW2 in Malta called "Fortress Malta- an Island under siege by James Holland" in which pilots like Wing Commander Adrian Warburton & Alex Mackie were mentioned and of course as you know there are artifacts from both these pilots amongst many others at the museum including some Luftwaffe relics aswell as RAF, the crafts centre is also a good place to potter about in (no pun intended) before heading up to Dingli, Rabat, or Mdina for a spot of lunch and a few cold beers.
