Well, we stayed at the Fortina a few years ago in both 2000 (for our Silver Wedding Anniversary) & because we were so impressed with this hotel we holidayed there for a fortnight in the August of the following year (2001). Both holidays were absolutely brilliant!
After saying that they have had extensive building work done since to the hotel and things have obviously changed. I have heard the odd comment that the Fortina isn't what it used to be but I'm still fairly convinced that it's not as bad as some folks are making out. I'm sure that knowing the excellent staff at this hotel, they will make your wedding day and holiday something very special and that you will hopefully report back the good news on this forum.
If we were 'tying the knot' again we'd certainly be happy to do so in the Fortina, instead of where we did!!! Have a great stay there and we wish you all the best for a happy and prosperous future,
Trev & Sue
thank you for your reply, gave us a bit more reassurance about the fortina, whats it like for kids though?we have our son travelling with us who will be 8 when we go. he is quite happy in the swimming pool but is there anything for him to do in the resort.any info would be greatly appreciated. we are getting married next september but will let you know how things go.
thanks again

We also took our son who was 8/9 in 2000/2001. There didn't seem much for him during the March 2000 holiday, but during the August 2001 holiday the Fortina ran a very good kids club. He used to get involved with lots of others about the same age as him. I guess that this club will still be going in September when you go but please check with the hotel.
I have to say that Malta's often considered not to be the best destination for kids but our lad always seemed to find plenty to do and reckons that he has always enjoyed being there.
Hope this helps and if there is anything else you want to ask me or others, please don't hesitate,
Trev
