6th and 7th March Denny. Stereophonics are playing in the arena on the 7th. It's part of hubby's Christmas present

Slightly off-topic, but with ref to above, a friend of mine is a season ticket holder at Old Trafford... from August til Boxing Day the seat next to her was empty, then this bloke turned up... 'The missus bought me a season ticket as a Christmas present, bless her..' Aaaargh!

Can anyone recommend any decent restaurants that open late. We visit Manchester regularly for concerts and usually eat first but this time we are staying for 3 nights as we have two events within 3 days so would like to eat after the event if possible. so any recommendations for restaurants that allow you to eat after 11:00 pm would be appreciated.

I went to Manchester last March with a friend, we planned it about a month in advance - just wanted to have a quick break away really - and the best bit about the whole trip was the hotel. We stayed in Roomzzz Manchester which is an 'apart-hotel' - which meant that each room had it's own kitchen including a hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster etc, as well as all the cutlery / crockery / utensils you could need. The bathroom was beautiful - felt so luxurious with a huge double shower, underlit mirrors and big white soft towels. We were on the third floor and had a view over the street with huge windows, but we never heard any noise and the blinds meant we weren't woken up early either. There was also breakfast included whichwas 'grab and go' - you just picked it up from the lounge area by reception and could eat it in your room - and there was also a little shop which sold essentials and some nice extras - e.g. coke in glass bottles and hagen daaz ice cream. The staff were lovely, they greeted us each time we came in and were more than happy to give us advice on where to get food etc - it was great being able to have our takeaway delivered to the hotel! It cost us about £120 each for two nights but we upgrade our room on arrival - I think the standard room is less than £100 a night - but regardless, if you want to be in central manchester (near the train station / chinatown / canal street) would def recommend it!

I would always book direct, I have never seen a third party site offering a room any cheaper than their website, and they have deals on from time to time too.

Can anyone tell me where I can watch the ManU FA Cup game on Saturday, preferably in the vicinity of the MEN Arena. The ones I have checked are only showing Rugby.
