I haven't been to ORD but surely there will just be signs you can follow to the terminal you require? Perhaps they have some sort of transit or monorail system too (I don't know how spread out the terminals are there). Maybe I'm missing something here?

Thanks for your response, but I was looking for information from someone who has actually been there and done that, and what they thought of it.

It is easy and will be booking November 28 or 9is myself.

I can get a direct with BMI for the same price £317 but from what I have seen and read on seat guru and other sites the seats on BMI are 32 and AA is 33-35 inches and as I used them December gone I will use them again.

Once out of the plane make your way to immigration at a quick pace if you can to avoid queuing and once through your carousel is right there next to them.

Once you have your cases walk about 50 yards and drop them off with airport staff then board a monorail next to it to you terminal where you can grab a beer and some snacks before you then board for Vegas.

When you get to Vegas you have already done the immigration bit so pick the bags up and while you are doing this your husband can be booking you into your hotel if there is a service for your hotel for this at the airport.

On the way back you only have to put your cases in at Vegas then pick them up in the UK.

Thank you so much John. That has really put my mind at ease.

A couple of people have said that it was a nightmare getting to T3. I wouldn't mind so much if we were on our own, but with my Mum and Dad coming with us it makes it a bit more complicated for me, since I have them to look after too.

I realize you were looking for somebody who had been to ORD. I was just trying to help, sorry.

No need to be sorry, I'm sorry my reply sounded so sharp.

Although ORD is huge,it is really user-friendly. I've been there many times.
You will come in to Terminal 5- that is the international terminal. Once through Customs and Immigration you will transfer by Lightrail to Terminal 3 which is for domestic flights- I take it your second flight is also on American Airlines? Just follow the signs. They announce which terminal you are arriving at well ahead of your stop. ( 1,2, or 3)You'll be fine. You can walk between all the other terminals but not the ones you will be using.

BTW -Pebbles, if you have not been to a major US airport before- most large airports have shuttle services to local hotels. They are independent businesses- Supershuttle in Miami/ Mears shuttles in Chicago// Gray Line in Las Vegas. You will see them all lined up outside the 'Ground Transportation' signs.
They run minivans more or less continuously from Airports to downtown hotels for usually less than it would cost for a taxi. You might be making a few stops before you get to your hotel. In Las Vegas Gray Line will shuttle you for $5 or so, to most of the downtown or strip Hotels. You can pay one way or get a round trip ticket and then just call from your hotel to schedule your pick up to return to the Airport.
There is usually an information desk in /close to the Ground Transportation area and you could compare prices taxi vs shuttle...
Also you might want to check with your hotel to see if they have their own passenger shuttle,a lot of them do.

Yes we have connected in ORD and it was fairly easy, can't remember having any problems just as John said.

John,
We fly out on the 5th November and back on 3rd December. We probably won't spend the whole time in Vegas, but nothing is set in stone.

No hotels booked yet. I will be looking for deals and offers and it is way too early for them yet. Last year we stayed in 5 different hotels over the three weeks we were there. Some rooms were only $25 per night. My kind of prices.

So, Pebbles- tell us how you get hotels in Las Vegas for $25 per night.

The three days before Thanksgiving in the USA are usually a slow time in Vegas. I kept checking for the prices on the hotel websites until I thought they had reached rock bottom, then booked. You can still cancel up to 72 hours before if you find a better deal, so it is a win/win situation. Be prepared for a lot of work though. You need to check every day.

I got The Orleans (off strip) For $25 per night for four nights of our last trip. Those dates were 19-22 November. Thanksgiving was on 23, and the prices went way up all weekend. The last few days were cheaper again.

Another tip is to sign to guest book for each casino and you will probably get email offers from them from time to time.

While I was in Las Vegas in December the Orleans had an offer of $15 per night but I decided to take up the offer from Caesars Palace and I stayed there for the 7 nights I was in Vegas.

Will be looking for a similar offer for this year but may go further up the stripp this time and stay in Mgm so as another person wrote I can have a proper look around that end.

I would have opted for the Monte Carlo hotel but as they have now decided to get rid of the brew pub it just doesn't look as attractive.
