A friend of mine has set me the challenge of finding him an all inclusive hotel in Marmaris for himself, wife and two boys (age 14 and 11). He ideally wants a two bed hotel room or (if at a push) or a family room (twin/dbl room separate) with additional sofa beds in lounge area.
He has called TA but was quoted over £2,500 for two weeks in August 2007. I have searched various travel companies and cannot come up with anything cheaper. I think the main problem is that the eldest son is classed as an adult and not a child.
Can anyone recommend somewhere that might be suitable? One other option is a DIY holiday but he is relatively new to the travel game and is not keen on that idea. Any help or suggestions would be grateful. Thanks.
all inclusive - why?

we did a diy all inclusive to marmaris and saved quite a lot of money it really isnt that difficult to do
I tried AI in the past and its not all its cracked up to be. I have tried to convince him that SC or even half board might be better but he is adamant that its what he wants at this time. Who am I to argue
i've too done AI but think marmaris offers so much more than staying in one place eating the same food day after day but like you say with kids its the easy option
hope they find something
(by the way spoke to someone last week who was staying at the kervansary and they didn't like it so don't recommend that one - they were going out for food and drinks )
my advice dont bother heared to many complaints ,,ok you may get a bad meal anywere but at least you know not to go back there.
Personally, I would never consider an AI in Turkey. All of the resorts have plenty of places to eat & drink that will no doubt offer everything they want an more besides. Turkey really isn't the country for AI in my opinion.
We find that a DIY holiday saves us hundred's and even though we go A/I
We still go out for a meal or two
We have only ever had one poor A/I in Turkey that was the Altin Orfe in Icmeler but that was booking our first time with Goldtrail tour company.
But we have stayed in Club Asteria in Belek its was excellent
Club Pineta Marmaris was good
Emre Beach Marmaris was good
Club Armar Marmaris was good
Sun Club City Olu Deniz was good
We are going to Tuscan Beach Kussadasi in 5 weeks time A/I
Put report on return
Now this hotel does free kids up to 16
Also Sun Club City in Olu Deniz does also.
But each to they own
We have the benefit off both worlds with us doing DIY holidays all the time the money we save not booking via travel agents we can afford to splash out a few times on our holidays and eat and drink out at different places.
All Inclusive holidays in Turkey are great you will always find something to eat just dont expect english breakie etc etc
But 9 times out off 10 the food and drink are good
Ive just returned from Marmaris from a A/I holiday with my 2yr old twin grand daughters and they never went hungry once
Thanks everyone for your advice. I am going to have another go at convincing him that SC is the way to go. I know from experience that it can sometimes work out more in money that way, but I feel that you a) get to experience different foods and restaurants (I think the best bit about going on holiday), b) you are not restricted to meal times and committed to strict regulations with the same boring food all the time(chips with everything ) and c) ... its just better
But everyone is differnt, we always go DIY cant beat it,get a nice apartment with plenty of space for half the price
