Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your holiday as much as you expected. Funnily enough I read your post then went on to the Club Aida thread where someone writes there were tears in their eyes and had the best holiday ever ... different strokes ..

You will all have a great time ... head down towards the beach and there is more than enough to do for your age group at night. Plenty of bars/clubs/restaurants. Bar Street is good too for someone of your age but word of warning it's mega expensive there. Don't worry though you will find out the places to go or not go quite quickly. There has been a couple of posts on this year about some bars/clubs trying to rip the young people off by putting little or no alcohol in their drinks. Best advice is to attend at the bar yourself and see what is poured. Once you find your feet and identify a young member of staff you can trust they will tell you the best places to go. Our daughters (21,24) went to the Cheers night club that's next to /part of Talk of the Town. Somebody will give you directions to that no problem.

Another trip that goes down well is a lazy day boat trip,if you go all inclusive it includes unlimited drinks all day plus lunch and snacks, theres plenty of island stops to have a swim in the sea.Theres loads of other trips to do,(dont book with your holiday rep as its more expensive,) depending on your preference really.I can assure you marmaris isnt a shanty town,we used to go to spain, but one visit to turkey changed all that.Have a great time
cus i havent been there b4 i dnt no wat to expect but use have put me in the loop!

would reiterate what cockneygirl said - it is certainly not a shanty town, far from it. i find the people to be extremely friendly and not at all patronising with it, they are completely genuine and they go out of their way to make sure you're having a good time.
yes you will get people trying to get you into their pubs and restaurants but either playful banter back or a polite no and thats that!
we (being 2 adults and 1 child) spent £1300 and we certainly did not skimp on anything - had two trips out too. again confirming cockneygirl the jeep safari is a must!

Just a thought when your settled in try a taxiboat or dolmus ride over to Icmeler for the day a lot come over from Marmaris and realy enjoy, if you do might I suggest you find the Deniz Kapisi beach and beachbar its as far as you can go on the dolmus, also a visit at night is worthwhile the kapisi will even come and pick you up and take you home if you have a meal with them and enjoy their entertainment. at no charge especialy as there are 5 of you, in their minibus.
Regards John
thanks very much for the insight...that sounds great..do u work in that restraunt ?? i am there for 2 weeks so that definateli sounds worth doiing..along with the lazy day boat trip! hoe far is icemelr from marmaris??
by the way wat is a kapisi??lol
regards michelle xx
NO!! Im just a tourist its just that I know Icmeler and the "Denis Kapisi "bar very well, I say kapisi meaning the bar people sorry for the confusion the distance between the two is about 8km but it depends on where you are staying in Marmaris
There is a loverly coastal walkway or the dolmus[minibus every half hour] for two lira or indeed the taxiboat for seven an half lira one way, if you do come over the Kapisi is at the far end of the bay from Marmaris last stop for the dolmus you only need to bring your towels the sunbeds and umbrellas are free and the toilets in the bar are allways clean, obviously they will expect you to spend a bob or two in there, the lads there are great and will serve you on the beach with drink etc all day and its also nice to have an hour or so inside in the shade and have the "craic"?? is that the spelling? try not to get confused when you get there the other beach lads will try to get you on their bit of beach, the kapisi is a proper bar/resturant building with a big neon sign outside you can see from the road.
Regards an Enjoy
