Mauritius or Sri Lanka Wedding?

Hi guys

I previously posted to say I would like to get married in Santorini next year but it appears they dont do flights in March! We would like to go in March as we are looking to go on honeymoon to Maldives as this is a good month weather wise.

I have now decided its between Mauritius or Sri Lanka but cannot decide between them so would be greatful for any help.

We are looking to have a beach wedding but im not overly fussy on anything else to be honest.

Budget is around £8000

Please, please help me make up my mind.

£8000 how are you going to spend that amount. We have just got married at the Mermaid in Sri Lanka it cost under £500 plus £880 for 10 days all inclusive. We contacted the Mermaid directly cutting out the middle man. Although I e.mailed several hotels in Sri Lanka only the Mermaid and Bentota Beach were interested. Bentota Beach is up market to the Mermaid but we were happy with what we had. Pays your money takes your choice. If you contact me I will send you some photos. Take on board we are not spring chickens so what suited us may not be right for you but £8k seems a lot.

If you're honeymooning in the Maldives, why don't you also get married there and cut out all the additional travel and hassle?
