Thanks Jim,
Do they bother the holidaymakers or are they just a nuisance the reports dont seem to mention much about this
had a great holiday.
the studio was much bigger than i expected and very clean.
we didnt have a great view but the peace and quiet was lovely
(id rather have no view but the room be quiet when im trying to sleep).
great air conditioning which is included in the price.
my daughter got married on 30th may she stayed in the ledra beach hotel we had one day there it is a fantastic hotel and the food there was great.
Glad you enjoyed your holiday and the apartments were good
Like yourself I prefer quiet at night to a view as you never really spend
that much time in your accommodation
Hope your daughters wedding went well. The Ledra looks lovely although
I've never been in it..........yet

It might be worth going in for the day as you can eat and drink all day and use the great facilities.the indoor pool is lovely on a red hot day.
Hi whats the area around the Hotel like had mixed reports about the area and the locals
That's a great price.......was that just morning till night or over night? Either
way it's good value considering the quality of the Ledra
We'll be staying just along the road at the Avanti Village so may give it a
try.
Trueblue.......the Ledra is situated in a quiet part of Paphos next to more
hotels of the same calibre. The entrance overlooks open land and behind
it is the beach and the sea. As for the locals.....they are the most friendly
and welcoming people I've met.

Sorry I was talking about the Mayfair, should have made myself clearier
the main street which leads to it is very typical eg couple of supermarkets plenty of restaurants /bars by the way the full moon restaurant/bar does a fantastic full english breakfast.
the area around the back of the hotel is a little run down but there is a big co-op hypermarket there, so some rooms are looking on to the back of this. before we went we read reports of groups of locals gangs hanging around but there was none of this when we were there.
its a good value hotel ,very clean and only ten mins away from beach and fifteen mins to harbour.
we hired a 8 person jeep with a tank full of petrol for £115 for three full days and toured the island.
we went in at 8 in the morning and left about midnight.
you can even get towels from the reception you just leave a 5 pound deposit and get it back when you hand in your towel
Thanks for that was a bit worried after what we had read.
It is certainly reassuring to hear that you found the accommodation ok. We are counting down the weeks now!
Would you say that the view over the back of the hotel, supermarket, etc. is one best avoided? I am wondering if to contact the hotel just before we go and ask for a pool view.
How did you find the entertainment? One last question, did you go to the beach? If so, did you find the local one ok, or did you get the bus to another one?
Cheers!
the views over the supermarket are the quiet area so it just depends what you want.
we were in room 215 and we were looking over a couple of local houses which was fine but some of the pool view rooms in our block had to contend with the evening entertainment bar.
the evening entertainment is basic eg bingo, quizzes and the animation team aking it in turns to sing songs (some not so good).
we went out into the town and the harbour to eat and drink and there is a good choice here.
i prefer the pool to the beach but we went to coral beach in our jeep and parked up for the morning,
this is apparently one of the best beaches.
avoid fridays because all the local teenagers hit the beach and it was packed with the young ones playing ball games.
It really seems that there are pros and cons about wherever you are placed (as always!) As you say, it was quieter where you were placed, but maybe not a fantastic view, and, although the pool view is nice, of course, it is then noisier. We shall wait and see! I am just relieved that you have come back with good reports!
Cheers!
Hi can anyone tell me about the distance from the mayfair to the beach, and harbour in paphos and also how far to rui cypria bay, has my family are staying at mayfair when we get married.
Mayfair at least a 10/15 min bus ride away. If I am not mistaken it's not far from the King of the Tombs road......but need to check.
About 5 mins to the edge of the touristy area.
It would depend which beach you mean.(we are not beach goers ,perhaps someone else can help)
Dot
thanks furball
it is about 15 mins flat walk to the beach and the harbour.
my daughter and her hubby stayed at the ledra beach which is a good ten mins drive away but the taxis are good value so where ever you are the fair wont be too bad
Cypria Maris is a long long walk to the Mayfair, taxi or hire car essential..
hi how much would you say taxi fares are from mayfair to rui cypria bay??
