Irene,

The airlines you mention all use narrow bodied aircraft; Boeing 757-200 (TCX), Boeing 737-800 (XL) or Airbus A320/1-200 (MYT). These are configured 3-3. Monarch sometimes use a larger aircraft, A300B4-605R for example during school holidays. You'll be fine with TCX.

Hi Darren! You seem to be the guy to ask! So as in my previous post regarding Thomson v Xl.. I have now seen seats with Monarch for £60 more than XL? Now are Monarch a better plane for saftey ect?? I really need to book today but don't want to book the wrong plane! Many thanks in advance!

Hii there,

Sorry I am not Darren, I am sure he will answer when he can.

Safety wise there is no difference between the 2 companies. Onboard both are very similar. The difference between the 2 is marginal and down to personal opinion.

I would prefer Monarch but not not for £60.00 more and would happily travel on both carriers.

Kind Regards

cosmicbabe,

As Stewart says, there isn't a lot of difference in terms of safety. All airlines have minor incidents from time to time, but most airlines in the UK have good safety records. You're in safe hands when flying with TOM, XL or MON etc. They wouldn't be allowed to fly in UK airspace unless the CAA approved them.
