Mexico In July

I was just wondering if I can ask you guys on here for some quick information -
We are travelling to Mexico on 21st July and as you can tell I am very worried with the whole swine flu business. So we called up Portland and they told us that by July they are 100% sure travel will be operating as normal and everything will be fine but with things changing daily I am getting increasily worried about the situation.
I was wondering if anyone on here can spare me a bit of advice and if possible suggest some alternative Riu hotels in the Carbiean we have our wedding book at the Riu and they told us we can change that to other Riu Hotels but we have only ever travelled to Mexico.
Any advice or suggestions and I will be very thankful,

Not sure whether they should have told you that 100% things would be fine by July- how can anyone know? If you do need to change to another Riu destination for your wedding, I can recommend the Riu Bachata in the NOrth of the DOm Rep. We saw a wedding take place there when we holidayed there a few years ago. We stayed at the Riu Tequila in Mexico 2 years ago and thought it was very similar to the Riu complex in the Dom Rep. You'll have the use of the facilities in the 2 neighbouring hotels as well. Good Luck!

I'm sure it's going to be a difficult decision of what to do about your wedding. The way I see it if the swine flu develops into a pandemic and there are all the signs that it will/has (WHO grading it level 5) other destinations are not going to escape it, there is a lot of traffic between the caribbean islands and Mexico's mainland so it's only a matter of time before there will be cases reported on lots of those islands.
