Where can I go thats sunbathing weather no rain 2-4 hrs away? I was thinking Canaries etc but it looks like its only 70 in may.
Is Ibiza and Alicante hot?
The weather in Lanzarote has been in the high 20's these last couple of weeks so I'd still consider the Canaries as an option.
What about Cyprus?
pah I have looked for flights Mon 16th May from EMA and it quite sparse, I need to leave after 10.00 am as I am working till 8am I have found a canaries flight but its a lot of dosh really.........and I cant find a package any cheaper.................I have £250 to spend.....think I might have to go EJ to alicante at this rate
How about Turkey, Thomson have some on 16 May in their Pricebreakers for 189 pounds flying from Birmingham at 6.00pm.
Turkey...is it hot there? not sure If I want to leave Birmingham
There are flights from EMA to Dalaman in Turkey - flythomascook website has a return flight for £149 plus taxes. If you're travelling on your own, your best bet for keeping within your price range would be to go DIY - check on medhotels for hotels and aparts which you book per room per night, not per person, so it works out cheaper if you are travelling alone. You should easily manage to find a hotel or apart for a week for less than £100.
Elaine
thanks elaine but turkey does not appeal to me, it's too unknown and I want to get by with the money and language, bit of an old stickler me.
Before you write it off, Vegasone, take a look at the Turkey page. I'm pretty sure its the most visited page on the site. English is widely spoken, the locals positively welcome tourists - unlike some other places in the Med- and its hot in May. Plus its cheaper than Spain.
Vegasone, I can recommend Turkey as well. Been going there for about 5/6 years now and can't even think about going anywhere else.

PS language, no problem everyone speaks English in the resorts
Money, Will be easy now that there is 2.5 lira to the pound (all those noughts have gone so no more dealing in millions!)
ok I will see I have not the first clue about turkey I want a beach a pool and a nice hotel for 1 week, not interested in discos etc just a tan for £250
Turkey is Great...lots to do and see, nice weather, nice people, cheap prices. Can thoroughly recommend (as a person that was once a sceptic)
Turkey is now the 4th most popular foreign holiday destination for Brits, and for a good reason: it's fabulous. I've been going there since 1987, and despite having visited plenty of places in between, will keep going back there until I drop.
Please feel free to ask any questions and I will be happy to help you out, although we may have to move to the Malta & Gozo forum if you want to discuss in detail.
Best wishes
