We like to come back to the hotel room at a reasonable time and relax with a drink while we discuss the day we have had. In Singapore we just brought in beer and coke( and used the duty free
). In Bali, we thought nothing of using the same from the minibar there as they were only a little more than you would pay in the shops. We did the same in Thailand and in Vietnam. Surely a small profit for hotels is better than nothing at all? And it makes for happier customers. Same with laundry- when in Bali we just put things into laundry without thinking. It still cost more than if we had taken it outwith the hotel - but we got a charge of £10 for a heap of washing we put in when in Ubud. Well worth it. The same amount in our Singapore hotel would probably have been about £60. Obviously the cost of living varies greatly between Singapore and Bali but I'm thinking more of the percentages that hotels want to add on to the shop prices.
Is it just me or have others had the same thoughts?
