Going to Fuengirola in the summer can anyone tell me where the Miramar Shopping Centre is and does it have any good shops ?
Thanks
There are some recommendations for other shopping centres, one of which is Plaza Major just outside Malaga airport. It has its own train station and is worth a visit as there are shops, restaurants, cinemas and bowling as well as other entertainment. There wouldn't be as many shops there as there are at Miramar though.
I've just had another look at the website and I think I have seen the place, it was just being finished when I was there last which is why I didn't go in.
There's quite a few decent shops there, especially girls clothes shops and furniture/kitchenware shops, however for me I like huge supermarket, especially for the cheap booze!
Although the supermarket in the Miramar is not huge, it still is a decent size, and, yes, does stock booze! Mind you, as Quakermass no doubt knows, the place to buy spirits and cigs in the town is the cash and carry (open to the public) on the Mijas Golf/Coin road, on the left just past the carwash. None cheaper.
Is there an adequate pavement to walk to the centre or is it advisable to bus it ? We will be staying at the Yaramar Hotel which is a wee bit away so how long would you reckon it would take to walk.
Cheers only about 8 months to go!!!!
If you head behind the Yaramar (2 roads behind) you'll come to the main road where you'll see numerous bus stops for the yellow buses that head into Fuengirola.
The yellow buses at "10 to" the hour run direct to Miramar for about 50p each and the bus stop opposite the Miramar will bring you back to within a 2 minute walk of the Yaramar.
Quaker "public transport expert" mass.
If you do manage to make it there, I can highly recommend the new 'Wok Buffet' restaurant which is just in front. It's basically an all you can eat restaurant but the difference is the food is cooked in front of you and not left 'sweating' in sauces all day.
At 12.95 Euros per head, its excellent value and the food is really fresh.
