Am thinking of booking this for our honeymoon in October - has anyone been? I've read fantastic reviews and I think it's the one just want some more feedback...
Our main "wants" are: -
- nice luxury room if we can (pref. water bung)
- not too touristy a resort
- lovely food (as we love our food and lots of varieties!)
- plenty of snorkelling activities etc.
- no kids!! Peace and quiet!
Any advice gratefully received -
Thank you!

I passed the island by speedboat on the way to my whale shark encounter at Christmas and it looked picture postcard perfect.
Hayes and jarvis have some good prices for Mirihi - around £2k each for a water villa on B & B basis for 14 nights.
I wanted to find out what people did with regards to food - is it best to just have bed and breakfast or go AI??
Also I presume Sri Lankan airlines are much better than Monarch!!
Sri- lankan are OK - on a par with Emirates, but I suggest you look at First choice airlines (available with Hayes and Jarvis( as they offer direct flights, 33in of seat pitch (comparable with emirates) and great entertainment system and will probably be cheaper. Only suitable though if you fly on a Sunday for 7 or 14 nights, no funny number of nights can be catered for unlike a scheduled airline.
Mirihi doesn't offer AI basis does it? It isn't available as an option on the H & J web site - just B & B, HB or FB?
