Hi hasanbilir,
Welcome to HT. What you wrote was what us Brits would call,"Taking the Mickey" or "Rubbing salt into the wound" !! It is good to have a laugh though. I, like many other people on this Forum really love your country, which is why people return here year after year and also why a lot of us have bought or are seriously thinking of buying a property there. I think many people on this forum would join me in wishing the people of Turkey a trouble free year for 2007 and that you prosper from our tourism. :D

Hi ladyjan,
For us, it is both the place and the people and yes, of course, the food as well. September can't come soon enough !!

what you must remember is that most turkish people are on £50 a week and they have to feed a family on that, the guy who delivers our drinking water is always sayimg he wants to come to england to earn some money. he starts work at 8 am delivering water ,and finishes at 9 pm 6 days a week for £200 a month ,he has 2 young children and no car. we are lucky we go on hol there and our money goes a long way, but when i see this guy sweat pouring off him doing 13 hrs a day for £50 a week, i always give him 5 ytl and the water is 3 ytl. when i was working last summer in the heat we had i thought of him and realised although i was sweating at least i was doing an 8 hr day and taking home good money.

It was last June when i went to Olu Deniz, not only my first time in Turkey but also my first time abroad (i am 42  ). I have had a kind of gnawing home-sickness whenever i think of Turkey ever since, and i think of it often! It wasnt just the beauty of the place, it was the warmth of the Turkish people.

I keep thinking that because i havent travelled at all then i ought to try a different country this year. But to be honest all i want to do is go back to Olu Deniz. I am sure that if i feel like this then no where else will live up anyway (although i am tempted by photos of Thailand too). :D

July 2006 was my first trip to Turkey, and I loved it so much I returned in Sept. Its only 28 days until I go back again for my first holiday of 2007 and I have already booked to go again in Sept 2007.

Like what has been said before, the Turkish culture and the Turkish people are by far the best I have ever met on any of my holidays abroad. I dont think I would ever go back to Spain/Portugal/Canaries now. I have a chance to go to New Zealand Feb 2008, but I think with what I would pay for that, I would rather have 3 trips to Turkey.

I love it and miss it so much, and am now on countdown.

I used to get homesick on holidays until I found Turkey. Now I cry when I have to leave.
