We have booked a Baltic cruise for the Summer. Looking at countries for excursions we will need cash in quite a few currencies. Given that a couple of countries are Eurozone it is just the other.
Given that we shall be ripped off at every turn on exchange rates I am looking for advice. Would it be better to have small amounts of every currency just to pay for small items or would it be better to just have a wallet full of US dollars/Euros or Pounds. Big purchases will go on the plastic.

It depends which ship you go on. P&O certainly didn't rip us off with on board exchange rates. On both our cruises they were offering more than we could get in the High Street so with P&O I would change money at reception and charge it to the on board account.
