For any holidaymaking fans of the likes of Motorhead, Saxon, etc., the 2006 Monsters of Rock festival takes place in Varna from 1st to 9th August.

Hi Baldur, What heaven, beautiful Bulgaria and some of the best in heavy rock music. Now thats what I would call a holiday, it's only a pity I go 2 weeks after the event.
Not to worry, hol will still be brilliant.

Just to make you feel better, Uriah Heep and Nazareth are supposed to be playing a free concert in Varna, at Independence Square on May 23rd. :wink:

Fairly catholic tastes in music, but these 'nouveau' rock bands aren't my scene - now if the Stones, Who, Cream, Led Zeppelin or, indeed, the Berliner Philharmoniker, D'Oyly Carte Opera Company or the Red Army Choir were there............. :wink:

Hi Baldur, I was feeling bad about missing Motorhead, now you tell me one of my all time favs are playing in May ( Nazareth ). Bit too late to try and arrange a further visit.
Let me hope there is something to see 1st 2 weeks Sept.
