I've just hijacked your thread to turn it into a resort discussion- hope you don't mind, we don't have one of these yet
We fancy doing the same ...does anyone know when is it "turtle" season ?
Saw turtles hatch in Feb this year, absolutely magic experience. If you go to Morjim there's a hut there that will tell you all about them and say when they're due to hatch. Don't miss it. It took me 4yrs of trying.
hi, we have been going to joes shack the seagull for 10 years good food nice people.its about 50 yards from the turtle area.we stay in a small village in north goa.
I also saw the turtles hatch last year! a,mazing experience! got to hold one and then set it free into the sea! MY mission this year is to see the turtle lay the egg! hopefully!
I go to a really nice beach shack called planet hollywood. The owner is called shaun and is a really nice guy! cant do enough for you! He actually rang me yesterday and told me that there is a bit of a problem with building the beach shacks this year, as the goverment have stopped any being build yet because they want to protect the turtles. But the owners a hoping that in a few weeks they will be able to get on with building them!
The beach up there changes all the time, depenmding on the moon! sometimes the beach is wide and sometimes the sea is up int he shacks! Its so nice!
You can walk along the beach for miles! If you start at morjim and walk right it takes you upto another beach, think it is agonda maybe? there are some beach shacks here and huts that you can stay in!
I stayed in morjim for two weeks whilst i was there the other year and it was the perfect way to totally relax! we stayed with shaun, as the family own some apartments there. At night we just ate at the beach shack! perfect! Sat eating curry in candlelight with a nice cold kingfisher!
anyway enouhg of my rambling.cant wait ot get there now!

My in laws have a little house there and are due to leave for the six month fix next week, if pity the shacks are not ready but I am sure Gilbert and co will find a way. Also try a night in Camp 69, Bosco will make whatever you like to eat.
See you in February
Must admit it took us a few years to move off our sunbed (in Candolim also )and find them but now we have to visit North and South beaches probably a third of our time is spent either way and we love it/
cheers Lyn x
Sssh dont tell anyone, thats a laugh. Although Morjim is still a beautiful beach, it is a very different place from how it was just 5 years ago. Thats what happens when a beach turns into a resort. Already the huts are all full and of course prices are going up again. Anyway its taken almost 15 years to spoil it, so compared to most asian tourist resorts, thailand springs to mind, we've been very lucky.
yes bigbaddad,i do plan on staying a night at camp 69,really looking forward to it.
Disagree about it being busy now, we have been going for last 6 years and not seen much difference compared to Ashwem which has suffered a bit of overkill.
Still fantastic though.
