I've been to Santorini a couple of times and never been bitten which is odd as normally the mossies queue up for me (and I am allergic to them). Last year I used Avons soft and fresh stuff so that may have helped repel them.
I went one October, and whilst I only got a few bites (thanks to Jungle Formula and knock-down spray for the room), the few I got were infected and went a bit nasty. I've been to places where I've seen many more mossies tho', I have to say.
we stayed in Kamari,Santorini in August 2006 and don't remember mosie's being a problem. Although I don't normally get bitten anyway, I can't remember any of our party of 6 being bitten either.I wouldn't worry about it and just take normal precautions such as a plug-in in the room and use some sort of repellant when going out at night. You should be fine.
Many thanks for your speedy replies.
