The latest we've been is middle of September and not seen (the effects of) any !... people do get bitten with things but I think a lot depends on where you are and how you dress etc... If you are in shorts and a t-shirt, spending all night in the trees or on the beach etc, chances are something will get you !... lol

There were hardly any aroun for months but suddenly they are back with a vengeance.
A couple of days ago I left my bedroom windows open and went to the living room to eat my dinner before work. 10 minutes later I went back to my bedroom and there were thousands of them on my bed and on the ceiling.
I emptied a can of fly spray in there, shut the door and went to work.
By the time I got home they were all dead.

Funny you should say that CardiffLad, we have just come back from Protaras on Wed 21st Oct and in the last 2 days or so my other halfs legs were covered in nasty big red lumps. 
Was all ok up to then but a quick trip to the pharmacy where they gave him an anti inflammatory/antibiotic cream sorted him oot !!

Ive only been bitten about 5 times in nine visits, my theory is they either like you or they dont
Mosquito's would tend to bite all over not just legs ! Thats probably sandflys or something similar !

oh god dont tell me theres sand flys aswell thats it i will be coming back looking like a leper mossies and sand flys luv me and yes i use all the stuff with deet in it to try keep em away doesnt work for me looks like its gonna spoil ,my hols thanks for all comments guys
I have since discovered that pure lavendar and geranium oil can be very useful in the fight against bites !!
where wud i get that from chemist ?
